"New Discovery Unveiled in Egypt: Hidden Corridor Discovered in the Great Pyramid of Khufu"

During a press conference on Thursday, Egypt announced the discovery of a passageway inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The corridor was concealed and measures approximately 9 meters in length and 2 meters in width.

During the unveiling of the "ScanPyramids" exploration project, Ahmed Issa, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, disclosed the project's findings. Meanwhile, Mostafa Waziri, who serves as the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, provided further information about the project's specifics.

According to Mostafa Waziri, the "ScanPyramids" project commenced in 2015 and is ongoing with the participation and supervision of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering, as well as prominent international universities from France, Canada, Germany, and Japan. The project received approval from the Permanent Committee of Egyptian Antiquities. An international scientific committee, led by Zahi Hawass and comprising senior archaeologists specializing in pyramids from the United States, Germany, and the Czech Republic, has been monitoring the work team's progress and results since 2016.

Waziri mentioned that the project had previously announced, in 2017, the discovery of a void inside the pyramid, which had been anticipated.

During his presentation, Waziri shared the outcomes of the scientific inquiry conducted by the "ScanPyramids" project. The researchers utilized a telescope with a camera to investigate a passage that takes on an aesthetically pleasing shape at the entrance of the pyramid. This exploration revealed the existence of a 9-meter-long and 2.10-meter-wide corridor with a ceiling that takes the form of Al-Gamaluni. It is believed that this corridor might have served to alleviate pressure and loads inside the pyramid.

Waziri also mentioned that all archaeological missions in Egypt are working tirelessly to uncover more traces and artifacts related to King Khufu and other ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Egypt is a country located in North Africa and is home to one of the world's oldest and most fascinating civilizations. Ancient Egypt is renowned for its impressive architecture, including the pyramids, temples, and tombs, as well as its art, hieroglyphic writing system, and rich cultural traditions.

Today, Egypt trips are the most popular with tourists to explore Egypt's ancient wonders, cruise along the Nile River, and experience its vibrant modern culture.

Zahi Hawass emphasized that the recent discovery made by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is one of the most significant scientific breakthroughs related to the pyramid of Khufu in modern times.

Hawass also highlighted that Egypt is home to nine pyramids belonging to great Egyptian pharaohs and an additional 14 pyramids built for queens. He further explained that the secrets of the pyramids of King Khufu and King Senefru have been uncovered, shedding light on the ancient Egyptian civilization's remarkable achievements in architecture and engineering.

Hawass also noted that the pyramid of King Khufu is among the most well-known pyramids globally, with numerous ventilation shafts that have been instrumental in the discovery of new secrets that showcase the impressive achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Ahmed Issa, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, expressed his admiration and appreciation for the immense effort exerted by the Supreme Council of Antiquities and all those involved in the "ScanPyramids" project.
