Revitalizing Dahab: Cleaning, Beautification, and Preservation Efforts Prepare for a New Tourist Season

Dahab, located in the coastal region of South Sinai in Egypt, is currently undergoing extensive cleaning and beautification campaigns to enhance its natural beauty and prepare for the upcoming tourist season. The campaigns involve cleaning streets, squares, and tourist paths, as well as renovating and preserving palm trees. The efforts are being carried out by the city council, various supporting agencies, and the active participation of local community members, and leaders.

Under the slogan "Dahab is a clean global city; contribute with your effort, and start with yourself, the campaigns include activities such as washing the tourist walkway, sweeping and cleaning streets and squares and conducting cleaning campaigns in specific areas like Thara Balls, Al-Jahazah in Wadi Jana, and Al-Bayda near the old Mubarak residences. Additionally, there is an open invitation for people and visitors to report areas with waste or rubbish accumulation, accompanied by photographs, for the city council to address. The youth of the city are actively involved through the Start with Yourself initiative, participating in cleaning campaigns across different sectors of the city.

In parallel, a campaign called "Our Heritage is in Our Palm Trees in the City of Dahab" has been launched to protect and preserve palm trees in the Laguna region. This includes cleaning the area, trimming and washing the palm trees, applying pesticides and nutrients, and providing root cover. The campaign aims to cover all palm clusters in various sectors of the city and its valleys.

Dahab has recently hosted the "Yalla Camp," organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the Directorates of Youth and Sports in South Sinai. The camp featured a range of activities, including Cross Fit games, sports and entertainment games in partnership with the Entertainment Games Federation, and a tourist program offering free Dahab day tours, visits to Mount Longitudinal and the Blue Hole, summer parties in the Lagoon Reserve, and a cruise.

The city of Dahab has also witnessed several developmental projects aimed at serving residents and promoting tourism. These projects include the construction of the Dahab tourist walkway, the Al-Huda Mosque, and Mubarak Road. The tourist walkway, costing 36 million Egyptian pounds, stretches approximately 3 km and features granite floors, squares, a fountain, benches, and accessible design elements. Mubarak Road, implemented for 46 million Egyptian pounds, is a 3-kilometer asphalt road with designated lanes and pedestrian walkways. The renovation of Al-Huda Mosque, with a cost of 12 million Egyptian pounds, was a joint effort between the Ministry of Awqaf and the governorate.

For those planning Egypt trips, there are various Egypt travel packages available, including, Egypt luxury tours, Egypt Christmas tours, and Egypt Easter tours. Additionally, there are Cairo tours from the airport, allowing visitors to explore the city's iconic landmarks, such as the Pyramids of Giza, the Egyptian Museum, and Khan El Khalili's vibrant markets.

For travelers arriving on cruise ships, there are shore excursions available from ports such as Alexandria, Sokhna, Port Said, and Safaga. These excursions offer the opportunity to explore nearby attractions within the limited time of a port stop. In addition, Egypt Day tours allow visitors to explore specific sites or regions within Egypt in a single day. Whether you're interested in immersing yourself in ancient wonders, enjoying the beauty of the Red Sea, or discovering vibrant cities, Egypt offers a wealth of experiences to create unforgettable memories.
