In preparation for the winter tourist season in Egypt, a major promotional campaign in 12 foreign countries
Ahmed Issa, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that a new promotional campaign for Egypt trips will be launched, which aims to highlight the Egyptian tourist destination in a new mental image in preparation for the winter tourist season in Egypt.
The promotional campaign highlights the diversity and
richness of Egyptian tourism products that characterize Egypt and suit all
tastes and categories of tourists, such as Egypt luxury tours and Egypt cheap budget tours, and demonstrates that Egypt is an integrated tourist
destination, which enriches the tourist’s experience during his Egypt travelpackage.
The Minister indicated that this campaign will target
Egypt's main tourist markets, including the British market, adding that the
most prominent aspects of this campaign will be shared with them so that they
can use them to promote tourism to Egypt and increase Egypt's classic
tours this season.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed that
the Egyptian international promotional campaigns being implemented by the
Tourism Promotion Authority target five types of Egypt day trips, namely Egypt family tours,
cultural tourism trips, and Egypt shore excursions for
lovers of beach and recreational tourism from 12 major target countries for
Egypt.
In previous statements, the minister indicated that the
revenues of the Supreme Council of Antiquities during the fiscal year 2021-2022
were one billion pounds from ticket income from archaeological shrines.
The minister added that three main axes have been
developed to achieve 30 million tourists over the next 3 years, noting that the
three axes are "improving the tourist experience, increasing the number of
airline seats to receive more Cairo day
tours from airport visitors, and improving the
investment climate."
The Minister of Tourism explained that the most important
factor for success is teamwork, and the tourism industry depends on the private
and government sectors and the cooperation of concerned parties to achieve its
goals, which include attracting 30 million tourists to Egypt.
Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, also
confirmed that the ministry spent 1.6 billion pounds on tourism and aviation
during the fiscal year 2021–2022.
The Minister of Tourism added that spending on the
aviation incentive program alone amounted to 850 million pounds during the
fiscal year 2021–2022, and 800 million pounds on Egypt tour itineraries promotion.
The minister said that the private sector is the main
sector for bringing tourism and visitors from different countries, including
Arab and various European countries, and it has a great role in increasing Egypt Nile Cruise Tours income. The private sector has five different chambers,
including the Businessmen and Investors Organization and others.
The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Tourism and
Antiquities is working to monitor all 8,000 tourist-licensed establishments,
noting that there are 1,200 tourist-licensed hotels, 1,300 tourist restaurants,
2,200 tourist attractions, and 480 diving centers ready to receive tourists
during their Egypt Christmas tours or Egypt Easter tours this season.
The minister concluded his speech by saying that 3
billion pounds had been spent on projects of the Supreme Council of Antiquities
that depend on the development and restoration of Egyptian archaeological sites
and the educational role, which is represented by archaeological missions in
Egypt.
