The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities opened a reception hall for visitors to the Edfu Temple in Aswan Governorate after developing it.

The opening of the reception hall for visitors to the Temple of Edfu in Aswan Governorate comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to improve Egypt tours in light of one of the axes of the national strategy for Egypt travel package development in Egypt, which was issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities last November.

For his part, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, indicated that the development of this hall comes within the framework of the Ministry’s preparations to receive the winter tourist season, facilitate the process of Aswan day tours visitors entering the temple, and make it more convenient, stressing that the project to develop services in the Edfu Temple is one of the projects it aims to achieve.

The Ministry should develop Egypt group tours services in museums and archaeological sites, especially the most visited ones, as the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, directed the necessity of implementing projects that aim to increase the capacity of halls and outlets for selling entry tickets to these archaeological sites and museums as a matter of urgency.

Dr. Khaled Sharif, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation and General Supervisor of the General Administration of Services at Tourist and Archaeological Sites and Museums, explained that the visitors’ reception hall at the temple has been expanded to accommodate a larger number of Egyptian visitors and tourists to make the entry process easier during their Egypt classic tours, and a new unit has also been added to issue tickets.

The number of entry units increased to three instead of two, in addition to doubling the number of metal detectors and bag inspection devices and increasing the number of entry gates to ten gates instead of three.

He also pointed out that the Ministry aims at this stage to urgently develop a number of the most visited archaeological sites, including the areas of Edfu and Abu Simbel in Aswan, in addition to the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the Valley ofthe Kings in Luxor, and, at the end, the Pyramids of Giza. This is in preparation for receiving a larger number of tourists for Egypt Christmas tours and Egypt Easter tours during the next tourist season.

By continuously improving Egypt tour itineraries, services, and infrastructure at renowned archaeological sites, Egypt aims to provide memorable and enriching Egypt luxury tours for travelers from around the world. The commitment to enhancing Egypt's historical treasures and ensuring seamless Egypt Day tours for visitors underscores the country's dedication to preserving its rich cultural heritage and promoting tourism.
