Paramotor Adventure Takes Flight in Luxor: A thrilling addition to Egypt's tourism experience

Over the past few days, Luxor Governorate in Egypt has witnessed one of the magical and adventurous flights in the governorate’s skies, through a distinctive flight of paramotor players and adventurers in the skies east and west of Luxor, amid an atmosphere of joy while enjoying one of the famous paramotor game events around the world, where distinctive paragliding displays bearing the name “paramotor” flew in the sky over the city of Luxor, which roamed the sky around the area of the temples of the Western Bank, the temples of Karnak, Hatshepsut, Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings during a unique and distinctive experience.

These Egypt tours and air shows were organized again over the temples of Luxor after their previous success in Luxor, as well as their distinction in the governorates of Fayoum and the northern coast and over the pyramids of Giza, which are organized by companies specialized in these sports, with the participation of pilots and paratroopers who hold international positions in practicing these sports in Japan, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Egypt, to create a new Egypt travel package style in the city of Luxor to achieve the magic of adventure and joy among tourists from around the world.

In this regard, tourism expert Mohamed Othman told Al-Youm Al-Sabea that one of the paragliding companies has organized special Egypt Day tours that bring adventurers and players from around the world to enjoy the Luxor Hot Air Balloon Ride in the sky of Luxor, as the foreign delegations of tourists who are present at Luxor’s landmarks were impressed. Pharaonic, and these air shows appeared in the sky above the Karnak Temples, Luxor Temple, and Abu El Haggag Square, Luxor.

Mohamed Othman added that with the advent of winter, the moderate weather, and the lack of strong winds in the morning in the Luxor sky, companies specializing in parachutes organized various activities in the east and west of Luxor, where these parachutes emerged from one of the agricultural areas in the city of Luxor to fly adventurers and players above the temples of the east and west. Luxor, which is the temple of Queen Hatshepsut on the western bank and the Ramesseum Temple, and around the Colossi of Memnon on the western bank of Luxor, after presenting aerial displays that impressed the people of the western bank and tourist groups during their current Egypt luxury tours.

Mohamed Othman explained that these events were organized for the first time by the Sky Sports Paramotor team, and this time they were held by the Sky One team of the east and west of Luxor, which contributes to adding a new style and a different type of Egypt classic tours that open distinctive horizons for serving the winter tourist season and raising the level of Egypt group tours. Regarding the idea of flying parachutes and paramotors in the skies of Luxor, Hassan El-Desouki, a Luxor adventurer in paragliding, says that the idea of flying parachutes and paramotors is one of the air sports that uses light gliders and follows aviation instructions and rules in terms of take-off, landing, and aerial guidance, relying on good use of the pilot’s body parts (hands and legs), and stars from Egypt and around the world participate in it to achieve distinctive records to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by jumping with their country’s flags and other distinctive attempts of theirs. Among the conditions for playing this sport are that the trainee must be at least 16 years old, be healthy and physically fit, and have the desire and love to fly.

The young man from Luxor, Hassan El-Desouki, added in a statement that before flying, all participants in the events of this enchanting air sport are subjected to physical tests, after which ground training takes place for about 10 hours, and after that, 4 hours of theoretical study are done before the trainee carries out 5 sorties on his own, explaining This sport arrived in Egypt later than the rest of the world due to the difficulty of its conditions, as the player must not be suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease, and his weight should be less than 100 kilograms.

He also explained that flying with parachutes is safe after choosing the motor and wing suitable for the weight and level, because the idea of designing the wing in a smooth way contributes to preserving the air inside it, and in the event of one of the wings’ parts being extinguished, it will refill it in a few seconds, and in the event of an emergency for the wing, you can open the parachute. Backup and landing safely, and in the event of an engine emergency, you can land with ease using the wing. Various training courses are offered in Luxor so that any adventurer can practice paramotor flying during his Luxor day tours in Egypt.
