The Egyptian Minister of Tourism holds an extensive media meeting with representatives of the most important Italian media
Ahmed Issa, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held an extensive media meeting at the headquarters of the Egyptian Embassy in Italy with representatives of a number of the most important Italian newspapers, news agencies, and television channels, including ANSA, Agenzia Nova, TTG Italia, Travel Quotidiano, l'Agenzia Di Viaggi, and Guida Viaggi. And Giornale Del Turismo, during his current visit to the Italian capital, Rome.
This visit aims to hold a number of official meetings and
gatherings with Italian government officials in the field of tourism, in
addition to holding professional meetings with representatives of Italian
travel and tourism agencies and Egypt tour operators
and holding a group of media meetings.
During this meeting, the Minister gave a presentation in
which he reviewed the most prominent developments taking place in Egypt travel packages, pointing to the role of the Ministry of Tourism and
Antiquities as a regulator, supervisor, and licensee to work within this
industry and as a policy maker, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to ensure
that the interest of tourist visitors is guaranteed and to ensure the quality
of all services provided to them. Applying all health, safety, and security
standards during their Egypt day tours and
ensuring that these tourist visitors receive what they were promised in a
distinguished tourist experience.
He also talked about the national strategy for developing Egypt classic tours and the axes it includes to reach the target of the tourism industry in Egypt, which is to attract 30 million tourists by the year 2028 through Egypt Christmas tours and Egypt Eastertours, in addition to other distinguished tours, pointing to what has been worked on and accomplished during the past period in the implementation of the axes of this strategy and what is being worked on.
He explained that the axes of this strategy are to work
to provide greater access to the Egyptian tourist destination, increase the
number of airline seats coming to Egypt in cooperation with the Ministry of
Civil Aviation, improve the tourism investment climate in Egypt, increase the
number of hotel rooms in it during the coming period, and develop the tourists’
experience by developing the quality services provided to them during their
distinctive Egypt luxury tours, such as Egypt Nile Cruise tours and other unique tours in Egypt.
During the meeting, the Minister confirmed that there are
large numbers of tourists who want to enjoy an Egypt group tour and have knowledge and interest in the Egyptian tourist
destination, and that if they visit, their level of satisfaction with the
tourist experience is expected to be good, and they are also expected to
recommend visiting the Egyptian tourist destination to relatives and friends,
adding that Egypt enjoys a great competitive advantage due to its distinction
in a number of tourism products.
He also indicated that he is focusing on these products
during the current period, which are cultural tourism, Egypt desert safari tours, beach tourism, especially diving activities, Egypt family tours, and cultural and recreational tourism together, in
addition to tourists who are looking for an integrated tourism experience with
multiple tourist experiences and styles, pointing out that the Egyptian tourism
product, which combines beach tourism and cultural tourism, is considered one
of the most important tourism products in which Egypt has a great competitive
advantage.
Ahmed Issa also discussed the Ministry's promotional
efforts, plans, and policies for promoting the Egyptian tourist destination,
including joint cooperation with international tour operators and airlines. The
Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion is implementing campaigns and
organizing Fam Trips to showcase the destination's diversity and richness.
He also pointed out that the Ministry has extended the
current aviation incentive program until next April, making some amendments to
it and providing a new additional package to some tourist destinations for a
period of 4 months in order to receive more Cairo tours from the airport,
pointing out that it was scheduled to end at the end of October.
The Minister of Tourism in Egypt is promoting tourism
investment, particularly in hotels, and urging the private sector to increase
investment. The number of hotel rooms in Egypt increased from 4,000 in June
2022 to 400,000 by the end of 2028.
During the meeting, Ahmed Issa discussed
the Supreme Council of Antiquities' efforts to preserve Egypt's archaeological
and cultural heritage, including projects to restore and maintain sites and
museums, and the implementation of digital transformation in the Ministry,
including electronic ticket systems and cashless payment systems.
