Egypt's tourism industry shows resilience and growth amidst regional challenges
Ahmed Issa, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that the number of tourists arriving on Egypt tours during the month of October achieved an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year, explaining that the increase in Egypt day tours was less than expected due to the events taking place in the region.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities said, in press
statements on the sidelines of the Egyptian pavilion’s participation in the
London Tourism Exchange (WTM), that the Egyptian tourist destination was not
affected by the Israeli aggression on Gaza, explaining that what happened was a
postponement of Egypt travel package
reservations, not a cancellation, during the period from December 2023 until
February 2024. Pointing out that the most affected tourism products are
religious Cairo day tours, which represent less than
6% of the total incoming Egypt classic tours, as
these trips are organized between Egypt, Jordan, and Israel.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities revealed his
visit to Germany after the conclusion of his participation in the activities of
the London Tourism Stock Exchange to hold meetings with professional partners,
German tour operators, and government officials to present the supportive
measures that the state and the ministry are keen to provide to support the
tourism industry, which includes extending the Cairo day tours from the airport program. The exhibitor will run
until next April, with some modifications to be made.

the Ministry and what is being worked on to achieve the target of the Egypt luxury tours industry, which is achieving rapid growth in the tourism
industry, ranging from 25% to 30% annually and reaching 30 million tourists by
2028.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Tourism and
Antiquities is making efforts, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to
launch incentive packages to encourage tourism investment in Egypt, especially
in the field of hotel rooms, improving Egypt Nile cruise tour
services, improving the tourism investment climate in Egypt, and working to
increase the existing hotel rooms in it, in preparation for receiving more Egypt Christmas tours and Egypt Easter tours during
the coming period, which is one of the axes of the national strategy. To
develop tourism in Egypt.

been actively promoting tourism through various initiatives, including the
development of Egypt shore excursions, including
Safaga, Hurghada, and Alexandria shore excursions. These excursions offer unique experiences for tourists
